AI skills marketplaces: how to choose
Compare the actual workflow, delivery method, review evidence, and permissions. A large directory and a hosted skill library serve different needs; neither a listing nor an MCP connection guarantees a safe or successful result.

Choose around the job
For an open-source workflow you want to inspect and customize, a repository directory can be a useful starting point. For account-managed access and centrally reviewed updates, compare hosted delivery options. For access to a business service, start by finding the connector, then choose the workflow you want the AI to follow.
What Skillset measures
Skillset records successful instruction loads and checks current access when a client requests a skill. A load is not evidence of revenue, task completion, or a successful campaign. Review badges describe the review process and scan result, not a security guarantee.
Does MCP prevent someone from copying a skill?
No. An AI receives the instructions it needs to follow. Hosted delivery can revoke future access and serve new approved versions, but it cannot retract text already delivered.
Are all these products direct substitutes?
No. A skill directory, an AI workspace, and a connector marketplace solve different parts of the process. Check client compatibility and the workflow’s dependencies before choosing.
What is a useful first test?
Give one skill a small, realistic input. Ask for a draft, inspect the output and requested permissions, then decide whether to allow any external changes.
